A great service project helping beautify a local veteran's hall
During the 2016-2017 Rotary Year we began work on the Hill Country Veteran Center, 411 Meadow View Lane, to improve the "curb-appeal."  Club President that year was Waverly Jones and she had a vision to add landscape, fresh paint, and a new, bold HCVC sign.  "We wanted to do something that the men and women who use this facility would be proud of," commented Waverly.  "Our goal and a goal of Rotary International is to work sustainable projects so we will continue to make upgrades each year."
The HCVC was once a National Guard Armory and was turned over to the Veteran's group in 2013.  Today it houses a variety of Veteran's service offices, a wonderful museum that features uniforms from several eras, a food pantry and a large meeting hall that is used for special events.
